The Lenze c550 is the most powerful member of the c430/c520/c550 controller family and is intended for high-end control applications in complex machines. Typical examples are printing machines with numerous printing units or picker lines in which several robots work side by side, all of which demand considerable computing power. Lenze software modules make it quick to build modern, modular machine control.
The controller runs on an Intel® Core™ i7 2.8 GHz processor with the RT Linux operating system. Its battery-free design needs no maintenance, and the extended ambient temperature range of up to 60 °C lets it be used reliably across many industries.
Axes are managed via EtherCAT master; EtherCAT slave, PROFINET IO device and 1000 Mbps Ethernet interfaces handle communication with higher-level systems, and an optional fieldbus extension is available. Programming uses the same engineering tools as other Lenze products, and web-based machine visualisation is supported with EASY UI Designer and the v430/v450 web panel.
