The G500-S + M550-U pairs Lenze's IE5 M550-U motor with a G500-S shaft-mounted helical gearbox to form a compact drive package. With IE5 efficiency according to IEC TS 60034-30-2 it is already prepared for upcoming drive efficiency regulations, and it takes up less space than an IE3 solution for the same task.
The package is optimized for sensorless operation with the i510/i550 cabinet, i550 protec and i550/i650 motec inverters and delivers up to 250% starting torque from standstill. Thanks to a market-oriented modular system the drives can be deployed worldwide and hold most common approvals, while the high efficiency class makes it easier to qualify for regional energy-efficiency incentives.
The G500-S shaft-mounted helical gearbox mounts directly on the machine shaft in a slim, space-saving housing, combining high radial load capacity with finely graded ratios and low backlash. Available in 2-, 3- and 4-stage versions, the series covers 0.37 … 11 kW and 5 … 4500 Nm, with ratios up to i = 4640.
