The G500-S + M650-U + i550 motec brings together the IE5 M650-U motor, designed for 120 Hz operation, and a G500-S shaft-mounted helical gearbox. It is a sustainable choice wherever a very wide speed setting range is needed; its low mass moment of inertia suits dynamic cycles, and it is two frame sizes smaller than a comparable IE3 drive.
The i550 motec frequency inverter mounted on the motor provides stepless speed control, making the unit suitable for a broad range of tasks. Sensorless operation still yields up to 250% starting torque from standstill, and the drives can be used worldwide with most common approvals.
The G500-S shaft-mounted helical gearbox mounts directly on the machine shaft in a slim, space-saving housing, combining high radial load capacity with finely graded ratios and low backlash. Available in 2-, 3- and 4-stage versions, the series covers 0.75 … 22 kW and 5 … 4500 Nm, with ratios up to i = 4640.
