The G500-S + M650-U + i650 motec brings together the IE5 M650-U motor, designed for 120 Hz operation, and a G500-S shaft-mounted helical gearbox. It is a sustainable choice wherever a very wide speed setting range is needed; its low mass moment of inertia suits dynamic cycles, and it is two frame sizes smaller than a comparable IE3 drive.
The i650 motec frequency inverter mounted on the motor provides stepless speed control, making the unit suitable for a broad range of tasks. Sensorless operation still yields up to 250% starting torque from standstill, and the drives can be used worldwide with most common approvals. The i650 motec adds extended functions such as Logic PLC, table positioning and Safe Torque Off (STO) via CIP Safety.
The G500-S shaft-mounted helical gearbox mounts directly on the machine shaft in a slim, space-saving housing, combining high radial load capacity with finely graded ratios and low backlash. Available in 2-, 3- and 4-stage versions, the series covers 0.75 … 22 kW and 5 … 4500 Nm, with ratios up to i = 4640.
