Lenze X4 Remote Access and Condition Monitoring

Machine and plant builders face particular challenges in digitalisation: customers want machines that are more flexible and more productive, and they expect potential failures to be addressed early so that production downtime is avoided. Lenze X4 Remote is a remote access and condition monitoring solution for exactly this need. Because machines can be diagnosed from anywhere, downtime falls and productivity rises, while machine builders can offer their customers more service and open up new revenue streams.

The solution brings together the X4 Platform and the x500 IoT gateways (x510, x520, x530, x540). The gateway connects to the cloud via LAN, WLAN or 4G in line with the existing firewall setup, so users can bring their machines online within minutes and without specialist knowledge.

Over a VPN connection, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting are carried out from a computer just as if on site, using the usual tools for controller configuration and programming. A web portal optimised for mobile devices also allows clientless access from a smartphone or tablet. Cloud Logging stores machine data reliably in the cloud even when the internet connection drops; the data can be visualised in personalised dashboards and downloaded as reports. Cloud Notify sends alerts whenever user-defined thresholds are exceeded.
