The Lenze i650 motec is a decentralised frequency inverter for wall or motor mounting with IP66 protection (UL Type 4X indoor). An optional extension box with disconnect switch – with or without a Type E combination motor controller – and operating elements makes it suitable for universal use.
Compared with the i550 motec, the i650 motec offers a wider range of functions. A CODESYS-based logic PLC to IEC 61131-3 handles simple automation tasks, table positioning allows independent axes and machine modules to be realised, and the Extended Safety option adds Ethernet-based safety technology with various functions. An integrated regenerative module returns braking energy, so no brake resistor is required, and four IO-Link ports with limited master functionality simplify data exchange with sensors and actuators.
The inverter covers 0.37 to 45 kW on 3 AC 230/400/480 V mains, connects via pluggable standard connectors for fast installation and supports EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, IO-Link, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP and PROFINET as well as the safety buses PROFIsafe, FSoE and CIP Safety. It meets the Ecodesign requirements of EN IEC 61800-9-2 and suits conveyor, travelling, winding and hoist drives, extruders, packaging machines, pumps and fans.
