Lenze OCU Series Motor Controller
Rugged Lenze overhead control unit for speed control and contactless control of asynchronous motors in monorail overhead conveyor systems.
Specifications
- Application
- Travelling, lifting, gripper and swivel drives; monorail overhead conveyors
- Motor type
- Asynchronous motors (several motors per unit)
- Data transfer
- Sliding contacts; optional inductive data and energy transmission
- Programming
- IEC 61131-3
Highly automated monorail overhead conveyor systems depend on capable control technology. In rail-guided transport, it handles the speed control and contactless switching of asynchronous motors. The Lenze Overhead Control Unit (OCU) packs the necessary intelligence and power electronics into one rugged housing, and a single unit can operate several motors.
Beyond the standard block control issued by a system PLC, the OCU also regulates the spacing between the vehicles on the monorail. Parameters can be set individually, and operating data such as destination information is passed directly over sliding contacts; inductive transmission of data and energy is possible as well.
Because the unit is programmed according to the open IEC 61131-3 standard, it can be adapted to new tasks at any time. The OCU is used for travelling, lifting, gripper and swivel drives. It belongs to Lenze's previous-generation inverter products; contact Euronorm for information about existing installations.
Features
Speed and contactless control
Speed control and contactless control of asynchronous motors in one unit.
Multiple motors per unit
The system allows several motors to be operated via a single OCU.
Vehicle distance control
In addition to PLC block control, the distance between conveyor vehicles is controlled.
Flexible data and energy transfer
Data is exchanged via sliding contacts; inductive data and energy transmission is also possible.
IEC 61131-3 programming
Programming in the open standard makes it easy to adapt to new tasks.
Applications
- Monorail overhead conveyor systems
- Overhead conveying in automotive assembly lines
- Rail-guided material handling and intralogistics
- Overhead conveying in paint shops and surface treatment lines
