This drive unit combines a Lenze m500 three-phase AC motor with an i650 motec frequency inverter mounted on the motor, so speed control takes place in the field instead of the control cabinet. The i650 adds a Logic PLC, table positioning and Safe Torque Off (STO) via CIP Safety.
Two efficiency classes are offered: the highly efficient IE2 m550-H covers 0.25 to 0.55 kW, and the premium-efficient IE3 m550-P takes over from 0.75 kW. A scalable modular system adapts the drive to the machine, and the motors are optimised for use as geared motors with g500 gearboxes.
Across the combination, 0.25 … 5.5 kW and 1.7 … 35 Nm are available in B3, B5 and B14 designs, without feedback or with an incremental encoder. Connection via terminal box or standard plug connectors keeps commissioning quick.
