The Lenze m550-U is an IE5 three-phase AC motor for machine builders who want to cut energy costs without changing their drive concept. Its scalable modular system lets the motor be adapted precisely to the machine, and many countries support investments in this efficiency class to reduce CO₂ emissions.
Compared with an IE3 motor, the m550-U lowers losses by up to 40% and reaches IE5 under IEC TS 60034-30-2 and Grade 2 under GB30253-2024. It provides up to 250% starting torque from standstill and is optimised for sensorless operation on Lenze inverters.
The series spans 0.37 … 11 kW and 1.9 … 56.4 Nm in B3, B5 and B14 mounting designs. Lenze has optimised the motor for use on its own, as a geared motor with g500 gearboxes and with i510/i550 cabinet, i550 protec and i550/i650 motec inverters; it can also be ordered with the drive package already mounted.
