The PGR PEX series is designed for extruder systems in which axial and radial forces are high. Aimed at single-screw and twin-screw extruders, it combines a sturdy, powerful housing with a wide ratio range.
It is supplied in 12 housing sizes with 2 or 3 stages: ratios of 8–30 with two stages and 10–50 with three. Power ranges from 7.5 to 300 kW and torque from 1100 to 160000 Nm. The generous distance between input and output shafts leaves ample room for the electric motor and drum. The axial load of the extruder screw is carried by 294 series (E type) bearings.
Housings are cast in ductile iron (GGG 50-60), and the gears are made of forged 21NiCrMo2 case-hardening steel.
