Drawing on its experience with stainless steel drives and taking EHEDG guidelines into account, Rehfuss has reworked its motor sizes and developed electric motors in Hygienic Design.
The SBE (Smooth Body E) is a stainless steel motor for hygienic applications such as packaging, pharmaceuticals and food; it is easy to clean, its design makes it hard for dirt to settle and it is highly resistant to aggressive media. The SBH (Smooth Body H) builds on the SBE and adds modifications that ease its use within the process, for example right next to the food being processed; EHEDG guidelines were applied explicitly in its design.
With a mechanically polished surface, a radial cable entry adjustable in 4 × 90° steps, an integrated terminal board and a detergent-resistant laser-cut nameplate, the motors are suitable for mains or inverter operation and meet efficiency class IE3. Available in sizes 63–90 with 0.15–1.1 kW, SBE and SBH can be combined with Rehfuss SMN and KSN stainless steel gearboxes.
