WEG cabinet built drives supply the variable speed drive factory-mounted in an enclosure together with protection and control equipment. The EDP11 (Enclosed Drive Panel), an example of this family, only needs the input supply and motor cable to be connected on site, which shortens installation and commissioning considerably.
At the heart of the panel is a CFW11 drive with built-in dual DC link chokes. A circuit breaker with through-door handle, a fused 480/120 V control transformer, a door-mounted keypad, start/stop pushbuttons and run/fault pilot lights are standard. The drive heatsink protrudes through the back of the enclosure, while the electronics sit in a NEMA 4 section.
Ventilated NEMA 12 versions are available for indoor use and NEMA 3R versions for outdoor installation, the latter adding a weather shield, space heater and lightning arrester. An optional 3-contactor bypass, hand-off-auto selector and potentiometer extend the solution to suit the application. Models range from 2 HP to 600 HP at 480 V.
Features
Plug-and-play panel
Only the supply and motor need to be connected on site, so the drive is commissioned quickly.
Based on the CFW11
The panel uses a WEG CFW11 variable speed drive with built-in dual DC link chokes.
Indoor and outdoor versions
Ventilated NEMA 12 panels suit indoor sites, while NEMA 3R panels are designed for outdoor use.
Standard control equipment
Through-door breaker, door keypad, start/stop buttons and status lights come with the panel.
Optional bypass
A 3-contactor bypass lets the motor run directly from the mains while the drive is serviced.
Applications
- Pumping stations and water treatment plants
- Fan and ventilation systems
- Outdoor drive applications
- Motor control centres in process plants
- Projects needing fast start-up without custom panel design
