WEG micro and mini drives are compact variable speed drives designed for precise, easy control of small three-phase induction motors. The CFW300, representative of the family, covers 1.6–15.2 A output current and 0.18–7.5 kW motor power for machines and small equipment. The CFW100 for smaller ratings and the new-generation CFW320 belong to the same class.
The CFW300 runs from 100–127 V, 200–240 V or 380–480 V single- or three-phase supplies, and some models can be fed from a DC bus. With power in at the top and the motor out at the bottom, it is wired like a contactor inside the panel. WEG vector (VVW) and scalar (V/f) control, a built-in keypad, SoftPLC programmed with the free WPS software, 4 digital inputs, 1 analogue input and 1 relay output are standard.
Two expansion slots accept Modbus-TCP, RS485, CANopen, Profibus-DP, USB, encoder and I/O modules. Class 3C2 conformal-coated boards, bulk parameter copying via the flash memory module and a C2/C3 RFI filter accessory make the series practical for OEM machines.
