WEGSee+ is free WEG software that simulates the use of high-efficiency electric motors in order to reduce electricity consumption in industry. It quantifies the gains of replacing a running, failed or newly purchased motor with a high-efficiency model.
Users enter data for the existing or proposed motor, such as power rating, number of poles, rewinding history and annual operating hours. The program calculates the expected energy (kWh) and monetary savings, the reduction in CO₂ emissions and financial indicators such as payback period, net present value (NPV) and internal rate of return (IRR). Comprehensive feasibility reports can be produced for replacing one or several motors.
The software is multi-platform and runs on computers, tablets and smartphones; according to WEG announcements it also supports payback analyses for gearbox and drive investments. Euronorm provides technical support in selecting suitable IE3/IE4/IE5 motors based on WEGSee+ analyses.
Features
Savings simulation
Energy and cost savings from using a high-efficiency model instead of the existing motor are calculated.
Financial indicators
Payback period, net present value (NPV) and internal rate of return (IRR) are derived automatically.
Environmental impact
The CO₂ emission reduction corresponding to the energy savings is reported.
Feasibility reports
Reports supporting investment decisions are produced for replacing one or more motors.
Free and multi-platform
The software is free and runs on computers, tablets and smartphones.
Applications
- Feasibility analysis of motor replacement investments
- Energy efficiency audits and energy management
- Deciding between rewinding and replacing a failed motor
- IE3, IE4 and IE5 motor upgrade projects
