MAS is a modular gear unit and geared motor system developed by WEG Gear Systems (formerly Watt Drive), the WEG Group's gearbox centre in Austria. Built on a building-block principle, it combines standard modules to create customised drive solutions with short lead times.
The MAS system covers helical, parallel shaft, shaft-mounted, helical bevel and helical worm gear units with output torques up to 20,000 Nm. WEG's European market brochure lists the helical bevel MAS geared motors at 0.12–90 kW, 100–20,000 Nm and ratios from 5.5 to 8,600.
MAS gearboxes can be selected together with WEG electric motors and drives as a complete drive package, and sit in the same product family as WEG's new-generation WG20 gearbox platform. Euronorm provides technical selection support and quotations for defining ratio, torque and mounting arrangement in the MAS range.
