W21 Aluminium Multimounting is WEG's three-phase induction motor platform with a die-cast aluminium frame. Despite its light weight it inherits the design benefits of the W22 cast iron range and is used in a wide variety of industrial machinery worldwide.
Its defining feature is multimounting: the terminal box can sit on top or on either side, and it rotates in 90° steps so the supply cables can enter from any direction. The mounting configuration is changed without machining or modifying the feet. A single motor therefore covers every mounting variant, simplifying stock, while remaining fully interchangeable with existing cast iron motors.
The standard version comes with IE2 or IE3 efficiency, IP55 protection, class F insulation and IC411 cooling. Definite-purpose derivatives include brake, single-phase, marine and TEAO (IC418) fan-duty versions.
