WEG W22 is a totally enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) three-phase induction motor platform. The frame is cast from FC-200 iron in WEG's own foundries, giving high mechanical strength and long life in harsh and aggressive environments.
The platform was developed with finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics. An aerodynamic fan cover and reinforced fan distribute air more evenly over the frame, lowering winding and bearing temperatures as well as noise. A finned drive endshield improves bearing heat dissipation, and solid feet resist impact and vibration. The terminal box rotates in 90° steps and suits F1/F2 mounting.
The WISE® insulation system allows inverter operation up to 575 V without further modification. W22 is available in NEMA 143T–587 and IEC 100–355M/L frames, in High Efficiency, NEMA Premium and Super Premium versions.
