W22Xdb brings the design concept of W22 general-purpose motors to hazardous areas as a flameproof (Ex db) line. The enclosure is built to stop an internal explosion from spreading into the surrounding explosive atmosphere. The standard version is suitable for Zones 1 and 2, gas groups IIA and IIB, temperature class T4, and is ATEX and IECEx certified by BASEEFA or INERIS.
IE2 efficiency is standard, with IE3 and IE4 available as options. Output, speed and frame ratios follow IEC 60034 and 60072, ensuring interchangeability with the earlier WEG W21 flameproof range. IP56 protection, space heaters, winding thermistors and a polyurethane finish to ISO 12944 C3 are fitted as standard.
The WISE® insulation system allows drive operation up to 690 V, with insulated bearings and shaft grounding rings available. On request, Ex db eb, Ex db/Ex tb, gas group IIC, Group I mining and T5/T6 versions can be supplied. Euronorm supports W22Xdb selection for your hazardous area classification and provides quotations.
