W22Xeb is the increased safety (Ex eb) derivative of the WEG W22 platform. With Ex eb protection, arcs, sparks and any overheating that could reach the ignition temperature of the surrounding explosive atmosphere are prevented by design during operation, including starting and locked-rotor conditions.
The line is ATEX and IECEx certified for Zone 1, gas groups IIA, IIB and IIC, with the marking Ex eb IIC T3 Gb. Optional dual marking (Ex eb / Ex tb IIIC T125 °C Db) lets the same motor be used in Zone 21 dust atmospheres too. The standard version comes with IE2 or IE3 efficiency, IP55 protection and class F insulation.
Certified winding thermal protection and a separate nameplate stating permissible variable-speed parameters make it certified for inverter duty as well. A version complying with the VIK VE 1 recommendation of the German chemical industry is also available. Euronorm supports W22Xeb selection for your area classification and provides quotations.
