W60 Vertical is WEG's medium-voltage induction motor line developed specifically to drive low-speed vertical centrifugal pumps. Flexible electrical and mechanical design lets it meet the needs of different applications and sectors, including solutions where the motor must carry external axial loads.
The carbon steel frame gives high rigidity, with the heat exchanger or ventilation box mounted on one side. The cooling circuit is single-sided, with cold air entering at the bottom and hot air leaving at the top. The modular concept allows IC01 (open, self-ventilated), IC611 (air-to-air) and IC81W (air-to-water) cooling. For axial loads such as hydraulic pump thrust, the non-drive-end bearing can be a grease-lubricated angular contact ball bearing, a grease- or oil-lubricated spherical roller thrust bearing or a hydrodynamic sleeve bearing.
Standard equipment includes form-wound VPI windings, class F insulation, an IP66 stator terminal box and Pt-100 sensors, two per phase and one per bearing. Euronorm provides selection support based on pump data and quotations for W60 Vertical.
